![]() Bend Naz Prayer Offerings Fulfilling the Prayer needs of our Church & Community
Do you have prayer needs? Make a prayer request known to us by using the "Connect Card" available during the Sunday service, or by filling out a prayer request at our Welcome Center, or by making a prayer request through the link on our website.
PRAYER REQUESTS Prayer requests come to the office weekly, and on Monday an email (and a letter for those without an email address) is sent to everyone on the prayer team. Your prayer requests are made known to our prayer team, a team of members of the Body of Christ, who will pray for your request. The church staff also meets weekly to pray for all of the prayer needs made known to them through your requests. If you are interested in becoming a part of this ministry, let call the church office and ask our church secretary to add you to our team. Our team members are asked to lift these requests up in prayer when they are received, and as often as they can during the week. Urgent requests received in the office during the week will be sent out to the team as they come in. We are trying to manage a way to contact the requester in order to determine if more prayer is needed or whether a Praise Report is ready to be passed on to the Prayer Team, as well as the rest of the congregation. Sharing praises gives a sense of worth for the expenditure of time spent supporting God's family in prayer. We invite you to become a part of the Bend Naz Prayer Team. Jesus has said that His Father's House is a House of Prayer. We want Bend Nazarene to be able to say that we are a House of Prayer as Jesus had in mind. As we look to expand our prayer offerings in the church, I would like to set out what we are now doing, and how we would like all prayer team members to participate in supporting the prayer projects that the church is sponsoring.
THE PRAYER ROOM The most important opportunity of the team is to provide two people each Sunday AM to pray during the service. Prayer is offered to church members and attendees who have needs and come by the church. The Prayer Room has been set up with multiple purposes in mind. Those are: 1. Provide a prayer team to pray during the Sunday Services. Prayer for the service will first be the first priority, with prayer being focused on the pastors, the music worship, the message, and for the presence of the Holy Spirit. 2. Intercessory prayer may be offered for those who have submitted prayer requests, and will be carried out by the team during the service. 3. The room will be open for a period of time from 15 minutes before the service until 15 minutes after the service closes. During that time, the room is open to anyone in need of intercessory prayer for themselves or their loved ones. The team members providing prayer for any one asking for prayer, and to write up a God Incidence Report, which is a short report of the fact that someone came for prayer, what was needed, and whether the contact was satisfactory to the visitor as well as the team. 4. Everyone who is a member of the prayer team and who does not opt out of taking a Sunday in the prayer room during Sunday services, will be assigned a date for service. We will post a three month calendar showing the assignments with contact information for all people assigned so that you can on your own initiative, contact another person and attempt to trade assignments if needed. When a trade is made, contact Sheri, who will update the calendar. 5. Your turn in the prayer room should only require one day of service in a three month period. If there are more than 13 teams of two who are able to serve, the service interval will be once in three months. If there are more teams available, the service interval will be greater (in other words, it might go to once in four months).

DRIVE THROUGH PRAYER The Drive Through Prayer program is a summer outdoor outreach seeking to have people with prayer needs drive through our driveway to meet a prayer representative who is ready to pray for them. It was a success last year, and we pray that with your support this coming year we will reach out to even more people. Under this program, we have two team members available at an outside table during weekdays between the hours of 11 AM and 1 PM. Signs will be placed at the driveways so that passing motorists can be aware of the prayer program. Again, during this time, the members will have a time to engage in praying for the prayer requests, praying for their personal requests, and praying for the passers by as well as the people who stop and drive up to the outside table. Bring water if you think you will need refreshments. |
