Oscar Acosta, Co Pastor
Oscar Acosta was born in Venezuela. His parents were pastors for 26 years in the Church of the Nazarene in Venezuela. While in college, he received God's call to ministry. He has served since 1995 in various capacities, including: National Youth Ministry Coordinator, Missionary Group Coordinator, and Church Construction Coordinator. He also served as National Camp Coordinator and Superintendent of one of the five districts of the Church of the Nazarene in Venezuela. He also served as a professor of ministry classes and, since 2015, has served as pastor of the Hispanic ministry here in Bendnaz.
In 2001, he married his beloved wife, Aura Acosta, who has served by his side since that time. As a result of this relationship, they have three children: Oscar E. Acosta, Laura Acosta, and Andrea Acosta, all of whom are involved in the ministry.
In 2005, after taking ministerial classes for four years in Venezuela, he, his wife, and their two-year-old son moved to Quito, Ecuador, to attend seminary. He was ordained a priest in the Church of the Nazarene that same year.
His hobbies include playing sports, including soccer and volleyball, and going to the lake. He also enjoys traveling with his family and exploring new places.
